Necessary cookies support the website and remember your choices. You decide whether to allow Google Analytics and external YouTube/Vimeo players.

The contact page also uses Google reCAPTCHA, which loads independently of these optional categories. See the explanation below.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. They can maintain a session, remember preferences or distinguish visits. External services may also use browser storage other than cookies. A session cookie has no fixed expiry date and is normally removed when its browser session ends; browser session restoration can affect this.

Necessary cookies

These support technical functions and remember consent choices. They cannot be disabled through the category controls. Our cookie manager is Web357 Cookies Policy Notification Bar.

  • Joomla session cookie: has a technical name made up of letters and numbers and supports the website session. It is a session cookie.
  • cookiesDirective: remembers an approval decision; configured for 365 days.
  • cpnb_cookiesSettings: remembers selected categories; configured for 365 days.
  • cpnbCookiesDeclined: remembers rejection of optional cookies; configured for 180 days.

These first-party preference cookies are used on MarkusAmanto.com. The manager may also use a temporary settings cookie, cpnb_cookiesSettingsTemp, while choices are edited. These durations describe settings, not a guarantee that a browser will retain a cookie for that long.

Analytical Cookies: Google Analytics

If you allow Analytical Cookies, we load Google Analytics for this website, using measurement ID G-E2G11DW67D. It helps us understand page visits, navigation, referral sources and use of the content. It can process device and browser details, approximate location, and browser/session identifiers.

The related first-party cookies are _ga, which distinguishes browsers, and _ga_E2G11DW67D, which maintains session information for this property. Google's documented default expiry is two years. Property settings and browsers can shorten this, and expiry can be renewed with later activity. This is a provider default, not a measured expiry for your browser.

Our Analytics retention settings are two months for event data and 14 months for user data, with renewal of the user-data period on new activity enabled. These are different from cookie lifetimes and do not control all aggregated reports.

See Google's Analytics cookie information.

External Media: YouTube and Vimeo

Embedded players wait for approval of External Media. The message at an individual player also lets you approve that category. Once a player loads, its provider receives technical information about your visit, even if you have not started playback.

YouTube and Vimeo may use cookies and other browser storage for playback, preferences, security, measurement or other purposes described by the provider. Their behaviour depends on the player, browser settings and whether you are signed into the provider.

For example, YouTube may use YSC for the session and VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE with a duration of around six months. Vimeo documents vuid, used for video-owner analytics, with a two-year duration. These are provider examples, not a claim that every cookie is set for every visitor. Other provider cookies and storage may also be used.

For current provider descriptions and storage periods, see Google and YouTube cookie information and Vimeo player cookies.

Google reCAPTCHA on the contact page

The contact form uses reCAPTCHA to help prevent spam and automated misuse. This service currently loads when you visit the contact page, before you make a cookie choice and even if optional cookies are declined. It is not controlled by the Analytical Cookies or External Media switches.

We load reCAPTCHA through www.recaptcha.net rather than www.google.com to avoid sending or setting google.com cookies through this integration. Google still receives technical information, including your IP address, browser information and interactions with the service. reCAPTCHA still uses its own cookie, including _GRECAPTCHA, for risk analysis.

If you prefer not to use reCAPTCHA, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. directly instead of opening the form. See Google's Privacy Policy and cookie information.

Change or withdraw your choices

  1. Open cookie preferences, here or in the footer.
  2. Turn off any optional categories you no longer want, then save.
  3. Reload the page so previously loaded optional scripts and players are no longer present.

You can use the site's text content without optional Analytics or External Media. Declining these categories does not disable the separately loaded contact-form reCAPTCHA.

Withdrawal does not automatically delete information already collected or every cookie or storage item previously saved by a provider. You can remove existing cookies and site data through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may affect necessary website functions.

Linked services and personal information

Course platforms such as our Zenler school at app.markusamanto.com and Udemy, as well as LinkedIn and other linked sites, use their own cookie settings. Choices made here do not automatically apply to them.
